Acronis Backup Server
The Acronis Backup Server allows you optimize usage of storage resources in your
network.
How does
the Acronis Backup Server work?
Step 1: Open the Acronis True Image executable file and install
the Acronis Backup Server on your designated storage server
Step 2: Open the Acronis True Image Management Console and connect
to your storage server
Step 3: Manage your backup archives by selecting one of the following
options:
|
• |
Create Profiles — The Acronis Backup Server allows you to create profiles to more
effectively manage backup archives. You can create two types of profiles: an administrator
profile and a user profile. When an administrator profile is created the backup
archive is associated with the host machine profile. When a user profile is created
the backup archive is associated with the user profile. You can set the following
parameters when creating a profile: the location of the archive, the size the archive,
the number of backup archives, and the time period to keep the backup archive. |
|
• |
Configure Backup Locations — In addition to managing backup archives according to
a user profile, you can add restrictions to the backup archive location of systems
in your network. You can set the size of the backup archive, the number of backup
archives, the time period to keep the backup archive, and the location of the backup
archive.
|
|
• |
Manage Backup Archives — You can quickly view all of the user profiles and backup
archive locations on your storage server. |
|
• |
Specify Default Settings — You can specify the default settings for backup archives:
the size of the backup archive, the number of backup archives, and the time period
to keep backup archives. Once you have defined the default settings, the settings
will be available when you create new profiles or configure backup locations. You
can also ensure that your backup archives comply with your defined parameters by
scheduling regular tasks to check for compliance.
